Happy Birthday!!

Help me celebrate my birthday month by reading my blog and posting a comment. If you post a comment to my blog between now and the end of the month you will be entered into a drawing for a present. If you mention my give away on your blog your name will be entered twice. The give away includes 5 fat quarters from Lake House Dry goods, a bottle of Gloves in a Bottle, The Gift of Quilting, ( book with great scrap quilt patterns), a package of applique needles, and a pocket calendar.
My birthday month has gotten off to a great start, yesterday Joe and I went to the High Museum to see the Terracotta Warriors exhibit. It was wonderful. I have never been that great of a fan of ancient Chinese art, but it was fantastic. It is hard to believe the detail that was put into the creation of all of those terracotta pieces. And to think that it was created for the tomb of one ruler is unbelievable. They were magnificent as they were, but to have seen them when they were first made and painted would have been awesome. After the exhibit, of course we had to watch the Super Bowl. We are both big football fans. I was hoping that Arizona would win but it was a great game. The halftime show was one of the best. I can't believe that Bruce Springsteen is 59 years old. He definitely doesn't look it. I am celebrating number 49 in a few days and many days, especially recently, I feel every bit of it. Although most days I don't think about age, I think you are as old as you feel and most days I feel about 10. I guess that is why I work in an elementary school. I am starting to think about how I can celebrate Ithe big one next year. I want to do something different. Any suggestions?

Have a very happy birthday! I just turned 59 and finally discovered what I wanted to do when I grow up! I've earned my Master's in Library Science and Archival Studies and now work as an Archivist. And yes, I do find a little time to do quilting too. Please include me your giveway. Thanks!

Happy Birthday! I'll be celebrating the big 5-0 later this year and I'm thinking of getting a tattoo to commemorate the occasion! Still got a couple of months to consider it, though; I'll probably be too chicken! Great giveaway BTW...

Happy Birthday!!!! A give-away is a great way to celebrate your birthday. Melisa can do the tatoo for her birthday. I'm not going there. Pat Sloan is doing a Celebration quilt to celebrate her year. I like that idea better than a tatoo. The Boss was great during halftime. Liked his show better than others in the past years.

Great give-away gifts. Please add my name!

Well happy birthday to you. Both of my granddaughters are February babies. My daughter Laurie saw the Terracotta Warior site when she was in China this past year. She really was miffed that they were here after she went all the way over there! I had a ball at the retreat in Fl and will bring the mystery quilt to Feb. Thimbles..it is a great one

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love it when people really really celebrate their birthdays and others. Here's something we did for my favorite sister-in-law on her 50th. We thru her a surprise parade. About 20 of her best friends and of course relatives, dressed up in our finest parade/MardiGraw type finery including homemade musical instruments(or I should say noise makers)parked a block away from her house and started our parade, making as much noise as possible, parading around her house and gathered her up, put her in a wagon and paraded around the neighborhood some more. We were the hit of the neighborhood, even gathered a few neighbors along the way to help in the celebrating. And we brought along the party eats to make the celebration last. She always said she was not so much a princess but a queen and deserved parades. Said that for years about the parades so we finally gave it to her. It was a riot and fun for everybody. So, give your family and friends a strong hint for your next birthday.

Wow, it's your birthday and you're treating us with a sweet give-away. I'd love to have my name in the hat and The Quilting Book Lady sent me. Thank you and again, Happiest of Birthdays to you.

Hi, just discovered your blog, lovely to meet you and happy birthday. I just turned 50 a few days ago and so far so good. My grandmother lived to 100 so I figure I'll make the best of my next 50. Thanks for letting me know The Boss's age, my husband and I were wondering while watching the half time show.
Have a wonderful month and thanks
for putting my name in. I'll add
your name to my favourites list for sure.
