Calling all Quilters!

I am trying to knock out some UFO's but need some advice. I have completed all of the blocks from Pat Sloan's Good Book Club from last year, and can't decide what color of sashing strips to use. (of course one of the blocks fell off). I want to do the outside border in the dark floral print, but can't decide what color to use for the sashing. I don't want to use the green, just because it isn't my favorite color. I have enough of either the burgundy, rose, blue or the ivory. I have looked at it and looked at it and can't decide which color to go with. I also want to use cornerstones, which I can decide on their color of after I decide on the sashing strips. I know it is hard to tell from a photo, but I would welcome all and any suggestions. I was really pleased with how the blocks came out, they were very easy to make. This is my first sampler quilt and am anxious to finish it.

Every comment will probably be different, but here is my opinion. Do the sashings in the blue, cornerstones in the green. Ivory for the inner border. Your blocks look great. I was so tempted to do this quitl, but alas I have several BOM/samplers in UFO stage.

Good luck! Post a picture when you have the top completed.

well actually my first pick would be the green - bnecasue i like green - but since thats out - i wiould go with eitehr the blue or rose they will brighten since the dark floral is so dark - i would thonk if u u se the burghundy (if it is the fabric i think it is ) that it would blend too much with the florl fabric and not "pop" enough - so my humble and i do mean humble suggestion is the blue or the rose -then i would proabably go with the ivory or cream for the cornerstones - ws the ivory one of your choices - is it was that would make it more neutral but u wouldnt getthe pop from the aforementioned colors! I dont know - u should take some one elses advice!!!!

just a thought!

I thought we were talking about inner border not sashing - i chenge my mind to the ivory/ cream - and same for the cornerstones - u dont have a lot of the ivory - and sop it will pull out all teh other colors in the quilt, be complimentary but not overnearing and let the other colors shien - again i know not what i am talking about!!

My vote is for a neutral sashing. I think it would make those blocks POP. Also if you use the same neutral/cream in a first inner border you will give the whole quilt the appearance that it is floating...
