Decisions, Decisions????

For some time now my husband and I have talked about getting a new bed. We are currently sleeping on a full size beautiful antique oak bed that has been in his family for years. We also have a matching dresser, and chest. Well we are at the point where we desperately need a new mattress and have decided to upgrade to queen size, that is as large as our bedroom will let us go. I have narrowed it down to two beds, after taking Joe to look at them today, we are no closer to deciding, he likes both equally well. One is oak and would be a great match for the furniture we already have. The other is iron and would be a totally new look for us. I really like both beds also, and don't really plan on buying another bed anytime soon. I have even started the quilt for it. (I have one block done, so there is plenty of time) Both beds are on sale so I need to make a decision soon. Which one, oak or iron???? What do you think?

I am a wood girl! So my vote is for the oak. k

I love wood, too, but that iron frame is just stunning and will look beautiful with your other oak furniture. I say go different this time around! Can't wait to see which way you've decided to go.

Both bed frames are very good looking. I think I'm leaning toward the iron bed, it's unique. Go with your gut feeling. Which one do you really want? Either one will be a winner.

I really like the iron bed. You might have to consider your husband's height with a tall footboard like that one has. We have a beautiful antique bed that is in our guest bedroom because it has a high footboard... Pat

I vote for the oak bed because it's sort of Mission-style and I like wood furniture.

It's wood for me! I think the iron is a "cooler" look, whereas the oak is warming and comforting...for me anyway! It's a very personal decision.

Oak for me too. Wood feels so much "warmer".
