Memories

I don't know how many of you have dealt with home renovation projects.  We are in the midst of having both of our bathrooms redone.  It is not fun.  The last time we did a renovation project I said that I would rather burn the house that do it again.  I am eating those words. This is the master shower after being re-tiled.  Love the way it looks, but not the mess it has created.  We are also having all of the doors in the house replaced.  I didn't realize that I would have to empty the closets for this to happen.  At least it has given me a chance to clean out all of the closets.

When putting things back in one of the closets I came across a box  and I had no idea what was in it.  When I opened it and saw what was inside, I was immediately transported back to when I was 8 years old and my mom was teaching me to do embroidery.  I remember it was in the summer and after she had done what had to be done for the day we would sit outside on the porch and she would show me different stitches.  These placemats were the first things that I ever made.  This was during the time of iron on transfers.  I remember going to the store with my mom and picking out the pattern that I wanted to use.  What was the first project you ever made?
