National Pig Day

Have you ever wondered who comes up with some of the more unusual holidays in the United States, I have.  I have also decided that I would  like to have that job.  It would have to be fun.  My favorite of the non-traditional holidays is National Pig Day.  I love pigs and of course think that we should have a special day to celebrate them. It also happens that this year March 1st is the day we are celebrating Dr. Seuss Day at school, we have the option of dressing in pj's, as a book character, or a Dr. Seuss inspired character.  I had trouble deciding between wearing my flying pig pj's or my usual Cat in the Hat suit. After thinking about it I decided that it would be the Cat in the Hat suit, I just don't feel right wearing my pj's to school.

I can't believe that it is already the first of March.  There has been very little sewing going on at my house lately.  I am in a "less is more" frame of mind and have been doing some major cleaning, with much more to do.  I am sure it is just a passing phase and I will be back to sewing soon.

I saw a child st the grocery store yesterday who was wearing pjs, and her mom told me it had been Dr Seuss Day at school. I wish I'd known;I have a great Seuss t-shirt. Also, because your mentioned Pig Day, I had Chemistry class in 1976 with Iowa's Pork Queen.
