Christmas in July

Christmas is my most favorite holiday.  I buy and make Christmas presents year around.  At this point I have over half of my shopping done for this Christmas.  By doing my shopping early I can actually enjoy the holiday season and not be stressed out by shopping.  I am also in the "less is more" frame of mind.  I bought this fabric last year to  make a Christmas quilt and have decided that I am never going to make it.  There are 6 yards of coordinating Christmas fabric, some of the fabric features cats.  I am not a cat lover so I have no idea why I bought this. This falls into the category of it is on sale so I must buy it.   I am doing a Christmas in July give away with this bundle of fabric.  All you have to do is leave a message telling one thing that you only bought because it was on sale.  The lucky winner will be chosen on July 25.  Good Luck!  me a

Love cat fabric, so would love this Christmas themed fabric! I bought a cute tote for picnics, however I have had it over two years and never think to use it. It has been sitting in storage for two years! So why did I buy it? It was really cheap and on SALE!

Tools are my weak area! Kitchen implements and quilting specialty tools are the worst for me: I'll see someone raving about thus-and-such a ruler and think I really need it; I search for it and wait for it to go on sale and promptly buy it. Afterwards, I find it's usually something I could easily do with my basic ruler. I probably have 10 kitchen gadgets that I never use too!

Do I have to only tell you one?!?! I have lots! lol
Mostly, clothes are what I buy that I never wear. I usually use (or say I will) most of the fabric I got on sale. But, one was this strange Lady Liberty with beehives and things that did not seem to go together. No, one better is the "cigar" fabric. I figured I'd use it for the back of a quilt for my husband, but can't seem to want to work with it. lol
I have a good bit of shopping done early also. We have a nice Gander Mtn near here and the best sales racks!~so always stock up for family there. I have a gift closet and keep filling it up. :) Saves money and yes, stress. I hate buying something for someone to be buying them something!

Way to go! I'm so impressed that you have half your holiday gifts already. I've purchased shoes on sale. I had a feeling that I'd have problems wearing them. They went in the Goodwill bag earlier in the Summer.

Love to make Chrisimas quilts. I guess the most wasteful thing I have ever bought on sale would have to be my LongArm machine. I bought it because they were having a special without checking out any others....big mistake.

Oh cats a re so fun! I would love to make a Christmas cat quilt! Yay on you for having half your shopping/gifting done already! I tend to fly by the seat of pants late in the season~ I wish I could get things done earlier! ;-) I have gotten caught up in the fever to have a new gadget or tool, find it on sale, buy it and then wonder why~ rarely do things work as advertised. I'm trying to be stronger. Thanks for the fun giveaway!

I am laughing just remembering this story....We had a neighborhood garage sale. We were doing terrible. My husband went next door and spent all the money we made. He bought a pair of shorts that didn't fit him, a waffle maker that we didn't need because we had a good one and a Christmas tree stand that we don't need because we have a pre-lit fake tree from Costco! For me... I bought a blouse that was too small because I was going to lose weight. Um, that didn't happen. I would love to win so I could tell this story!

I turn weak at the knees any time I see the word "sale" connected to any kind of fabric--1930s or modern or 1800s repro or floral -- makes no difference. If it's on sale, I have to scurry so I don't miss out. The better the sale, the more I buy. Poor hubbie has no idea how much fabric is hidden in the corners and shelves and storage bins in this house we share.
Your Christmas fabric looks wonderful!

Most of my fabric is only purchased because it was on sale. Can't afford the regular prices anymore.

Thanks for the giveaway.

I buy most of my clothing on sale. Most of the purchases I like and wear, then there are the ones that I wonder what I was thinking. They are passed on to someone who can really use them. They fabric is lovely. I love almost all Christmas fabric. Thanks for the chance!

What a generous give away and what a lovely christmas fabric. But I also have to make you a comment on being sp early with your preparations for Christmas - amazing. It must be great. I normaly buy presents in november and is pleased about that :-). But I really would love to make more presents myself.
On SALE - I often buy clothes on sale, and once I did buy 3-4 dresses. I am only using one of them and the rest have been given for the third world.
Have a nice sunday.

I'm sure I have some fabric that I bought just because, but my I probably have (or had) two or three tops that I just HAD to have because they were so cheap. Got them home, hung them up, still had the tags on them two years later!

I just found a full bolt of fabric under the spare bed that I had forgotten I bought years ago - and for the life of me I can't remember why I bought it - must have been one of those SALE items I just couldn't pass up. I think it will now go to backings for charity quilts. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway.

Great giveaway! Please count me in! At least lately, I buy only what I need.

Thanks for this opportunity. And the only way I can afford fabric is to buy it on sale. I'm a new quilter, so have very little fabric. So if there is a good sale - I don't care if I like the fabric or not. I buy it. A sale is too good to pass up.

I think it would be easier to tell you what I have NOT bought just because it was on sale! LOL....

I do have several novelty prints that I bought on sale....when I look at them all I can do is shake my head and say "what was I thinking!"

I'm the quilter in the family - so when ever my wife indicates she likes a pattern or a kit - we have to buy it. I like scrap quilting, so when she indicates she likes it, it goes into my stash - will I every get to it? I think I forgot what she wanted it for. Don't you just love scrap quilt? I bought 2 juicers at the thrift store that I've never used (why two? not sure!). They're in great shape and were really cheap. Guess I should just donate them back! ;)

I love cats and try to pick up cat fabric when it is on sale. I have bought some really ugly fabric because it has been on sale. It has old fashioned santas on it but they are really mean looking.

I bought a pair of pants that didn't fit, but that were on sale. I thought I'd lose weight to wear them, but I didn't. Thanks for the giveaway!

Fabric and more fabric. Like when Wal-mart stopped selling fabric. Had no idea what I would use it for but 50-75-90% off, I did not need to know.Did you know some of the Wal-marts have returned a smaller stock of fabric to some stores here in S.C.
