March UFO finish

When they call this a lap quilt, they aren't kidding.  I knew that it wouldn't be very large, however I thought it would be a little bigger.  Ilove the colors and fabrics.  I got this as a kit a couple of years ago at Sweet Home, the pattern can also be found at Moda Bake Shop.  The pieces are big, you use a layer cake and it went together quickly, once I was determined to finish it.  If I had been thinking at the time I would have bought two layer cakes and make it bigger.  I think that after I get it quilted I will use it on a table.  I like the pattern so well that I really think I would make it again, just a larger size.

February Finish

Yeah, a finish!! I have had all of the blocks sewn together for awhile and have had it laid out with about half of the blocks sewn together.  It took having a long weekend to get it all put together.  This pattern, Long Road Home, is the last trade that Becky, Krisite, Marti, Julie, Karin, Cindy and serveral other thimbles did.  I love the way that it turned out.  Now I have to get a backing fabric for it, I don't want this one to "age" like some of my finished tops.  Marti had her finished one at Thimbles last week and it was georgeous.  It's a good thing I finished it, I think Krisite is ready to send out the info for our next trade.  So far I have finished all of our trades before starting the new one.  I think this is my favorite.

July UFO finish

This is my UFO finish for July, Neighbor's Fence.  I started this several, and I do mean several years ago.  It is made from all of my flannel scraps.  The only thing that I had to buy was the border fabric.  I have pieced the backing from some of the flannel scraps that I had left.  The really sad thing is that  I have another one of these that is on my UFO list for the year, the good thing is that it is almost finished.  All I have to do is add the borders.  I really feel like I am really accomplishing something this year.
