So I have my holidays mixed up!!

I  know it is almost Easter, but I had to post my latest finish.  I just got Comfort and Joy back from Leisa and boy did she do a great job.  It is the first quilt I have ever had custom done and I am so glad that I did.  The pattern was designed by my good friend Pat over at Silver Thimble a couple of years ago, there are several groups doing it as a quilt along now.  (you will be so happy that you did).  I just finished filling out the entry for this in the East Cobb Show, hope it is selected.

Pocket Full of Posies



While in Ellijay for Pat's retreat one of our projects was this cute wool bag,  when I first saw the pattern I knew I would definitely make it.  This would be the perfect pattern to use some of my hand dyed wools.  The applique flowers worked up really quickly, but I couldn't finish it at the retreat because I didn't take the right kind of interfacing with me.  Of course when I came back I put it to the side with the intention of finishing it the next week, well that didn't happen.  I finally finished mine last night.

Here is my version of the Pocket Full of Posies bag.  There is also a needle keep included in the pattern, haven't made it yet.  I plan on using this for some of my smaller sewing projects.  If you are interested in the pattern you can get it from Silver Thimble Quilt Co.or from Fat Quarter Shop.  You can also check out my etsy shop for a kit to make the bag.  You can purchase it in different color ways.

Back to sewing, finally!!!

I just don't  know where the time has gone, it is already March!!  There hasn't been too much sewing going on at my house in the last few weeks (not on the machine anyway).  I am busying doing lots of hand stitching, I am working with Pat over at Silver Thimble with her Snowbound quilt along.  I am having so much fun working on this table topper.  Check out her blog for some photos.  Yesterday was a furlough day, ugh, and I finally made my way down to my sewing room.  I have been working on a Primitive Gatherings pattern called Odd's and End's for the last few  months.  Finally all of the blocks are finished and I have started sewing them together.  I absolutely love the way the blocks turned out and can't wait to get them sewn together.  I used a ton of my stash with this pattern, mostly repros with a very few others mixed in.

1923-2013

After suffering severe burns in an accident in October, we lost my Uncle Bill yesterday.  He fought long and hard it was just too much for him.  He will definitely be missed by everyone in Corinth; everyone there knew him.
